About the Author

Sam Matos attempted a novel in the first grade that left the protagonist on her death bed by chapter four (piranha venom. Naturally). Nowadays she manages to keep her characters healthy a little longer. She developed a love for speculative fiction through watching shows like The Flash, Grimm, Lost, Haven, with her father. From her mother, she learned the value of choosing joy and gratitude in the midst of challenges. She now strives to write tales that encourage readers to be hopeful and to pursue heroism through acts of kindness and courage in their own lives. When not writing or working, she can be found watching Marvel movies, listening to 80’s music, and learning to play ice hockey.
